Unlocking Dynamic Artistry

groundbreaking method I developed for creating dynamic displays, particularly sculptures. IMAMI stands for “Image Matrix Artistic Motion Illusion.” With IMAMI, I’ve unlocked the potential to craft sculptures that appear to be in motion, akin to puzzle pieces moving and dissolving into each other.

One notable project where I discovered IMAMI was for a sculpture commissioned by the University of Colorado. Using a matrix of vertical ribbons, I illustrated cross-sections of the human body, achieving a mesmerizing holographic effect that made the sculptures appear solid and transparent simultaneously.

In addition to sculptures, I’ve also explored using IMAMI to display puzzles. By utilizing basic forms like squares and triangles, I’ve created intricate designs with pieces spiraling around each vertical part. These pieces, often crafted from printed paper or clear plastic, result in delicate and visually captivating displays.

The process involves using nested sheets placed on boards printed with images, allowing me to meticulously cut out individual pieces. This technique enables the creation of custom puzzles featuring a wide array of imagery, from famous characters like Spider-Man to personal photographs.

To further enhance the experience, there is also a smartphone app that empowers users to collect and combine images, unlocking a realm of endless creative possibilities. With IMAMI, the boundaries of artistic expression are boundless, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a world of imaginative assemblies.
