A Commemoration of Love

For the Stainless Origami project in 2010, I had the privilege of creating a sculpture commissioned by a couple to commemorate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Drawing inspiration from the intricate folds of Japanese origami, I first crafted the form using traditional paper techniques. Then, employing modern technology, I utilized a computer-controlled metal router to meticulously score mirrored stainless steel sheets along the fold lines.

Finally, these scored sheets were carefully folded to replicate the delicate origami sculpture in durable stainless steel.
